Technical Editing Consultants, Inc. (TEC) is a web-based editing company located in Slidell, Louisiana, USA. We are situated near NASA’s Stennis Space Center (Mississippi), Tulane University, the LSU Health Sciences Center, the University of New Orleans, Xavier University, and Loyola University.
TEC Managing Editor Heather Penta has over a decade of scientific writing and editing experience for institutions such as University of South Florida’s College of Marine Science; Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute; the Naval Postgraduate School; freelance work; and more. Heather has worked with scientists, engineers, and military personnel from North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia.
Heather is trained in Environmental, Organismic, and Population Biology and Chemical Oceanography. She has participated in oceanographic research cruises and laboratory research. She has also performed field work in Colorado and along the coasts of Florida.
Along with Dr. K. A. Steidinger, Heather edited “Harmful Microalgae and Associated Public Health Risks in the Gulf of Mexico” (U.S. EPA Gulf of Mexico Program).
